Our universal spindle mount (sold separately) is a great design that can be installed onto a variety of machines.  To make that happen, we use an Adapter Plate that is tailor made for each compatible machine.

* This product is only the adapter plate itself without hardware.  The spindle mount is sold separately and contains the hardware necessary to mount.

** Note that each plate's availability varies.  We are currently updating the MK2 plate and thus this variant is currently available as a pre-order only.  When production product arrives, we'll ship it to you asap.

Spindle Mount and Adapter Plates - Longmill MK2

80mm spindle mount and adapter plates for the Sienci Longmill MK2 are very solid, lightweight and milling is nearly perfect. Only downside is the spindle cannot be locked in the mount independently (I believe the middle bolt is too long so it tensions the spindle using the adapter plate, not the front and back parts of the mount) so any adjustment requires retramming. It’s particularly a challenge to tram Y/front-back. The spindle has to be removed/extra hands to hold it in order to loosen the mounting bolts and place wedges.

Great product

Fits great, solid adapter plate. The only thing that could be a little better is that if you have sensors installed you will lose approximately 1/2" of z-axis clearance. If there were a notch in the top plate at the sensor location to maintain the top elevation of the original z axis plate then the full z-height could be maintained. Normally not an issue unless you are using the rotary.

A robust attachment for the spindle. It should allow for accurate cuts with no vibration.

Looks great!

I ordered this at the same time as a PWN CNC 80mm liquid cooled spindle. I have not received the spindle yet so I can’t really give a precise review. It looks solid though!
