MASSO MPG Pendant Review

To be clear, I basically bought the pendant while waiting an eternity for my 1F Elite Foreman and spindle kit to show up, I get bored and feel like I have to be doing something…so pendant it was. I didn’t realize how fricken useful this thing would be, I really can’t imagine using my machine without it. I tried using a cheap wireless Bluetooth keyboard with a USB dongle for these functions but I couldn’t get it to work. Oh well, $10 down the drain. Get this MASSO MPG pendant from PWN, they had it in stock and I had it in hand in like five days. Great addition to your CNC setup, I highly recommend!

Nice, High Cost Pendant that is a perfect match to an Onefinity Elite CNC Router

After purchasing an Onefinity Elite Foreman machine I quickly realized a pendant would be most beneficial. In looking for one there are many options, especially on Amazon but none that I felt comfortable with (quality, ease of interface, user layout etc). The Masso pendant has what I wanted in a package that interfaces with the Masso controllers flawlessly and easily. After installing I knew I had a made a good choice.
Pros: High quality design and build
Seamless interface (however required disassembly of console)
Maintains the value, quality and system integrity of the
Onefinity machine.
Cons: Unit Cost!
Installation required disassembly of control console and removal of the RS232 connector of the pendant - not plug and run!
Availability of USA stock (Masso is a Aussy company)
Freight cost
The biggest reason I gave this a 4 star rating is that I feel the price point is too high. Yes it is a decent product but (in my professional opinion as a 25+ year mechanical/electrical design engineer) the Masso people are putting too much "value" on their name alone as this is a branded product made by a China factory, albeit a high quality factory.
I would buy it again but I would also cringe (as I did the first time) when paying the check.

Good upgrade

The pendant itself seems to work excellent. The only complaint I have is that you must remove the cover and strain relief clamp at the data plug in order for the masso controller door to clear the plug. One would think a masso pendant would be designed to fit a masso controller without such mods.
