ZYLtech PLA Silk Rainbow Filament

ZYLtech PLA Silk Rainbow filament is designed to create vibrant, colorful 3D prints with a glossy silk finish and smooth rainbow color transitions. Crafted from high-quality thermoplastic polymers, this filament delivers consistent performance, reliable extrusion, and eye-catching results from start to finish.

The rainbow color shift makes each print unique, with colors gradually changing as the model builds. It’s a great choice for decorative prints, display pieces, vases, signs, toys, dragons, figurines, cosplay props, gifts, and any project where you want the finished part to stand out.

This PLA-based silk filament is compatible with most standard FDM/FFF 3D printers and feeds smoothly on both Bowden and direct-drive setups, making it accessible for beginners while still offering the polished finish experienced makers love.

  • Bed Temperature: 50–60°C

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm standard

  • Layer Height: 0.12–0.28mm depending on desired detail and finish

  • Outer Wall / Perimeter Speed: Under 80mm/s recommended for best gloss and layer adhesion

  • Cooling: Moderate part cooling recommended

Printing Tips

Silk PLA typically prints best at a slightly higher nozzle temperature and slower speed than standard PLA. Slower outer-wall speeds help improve the glossy surface finish and can also strengthen layer adhesion.

Start around 215°C and adjust based on your printer, model, and desired finish. Higher temperatures can improve shine and bonding, while too much heat or insufficient cooling may soften details or create surface defects.

Part cooling is important, but balance matters. Too much cooling can weaken layer adhesion, while too little cooling can lead to warping or poor surface quality.

Infill density can affect how dramatic the color transition appears in the final print. Since the color changes approximately every 6–8 meters, higher infill can use more filament and produce more noticeable color shifts, while lower infill may create a slower, more gradual transition.
