Extra Collet Nut

I ordered this spare/replacement collet nut because, thanks to poor programming on my part, the collet made contact with plastic while grinding to a halt from going to deep in wood, which naturally melted all around it. It is still usable after cleaning it up, but I thought I'd rather not take any chances since I had to pull out my spare collet. The nut arrived promptly enough, but it's not as tall as the original. By the time the threads engage, the collet has started tightening up, and I cannot insert a bit. If I put the bit in before screwing on the nut, the threads don't engage! So, unfortunately, it's not useable.
