The PwnCNC Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) System is designed to reduce downtime, improve repeatability, and make multi-tool CNC projects easier to run. Each system is assembled, configured, and tested in-house before shipment so you receive a complete ATC spindle package built around your selected motor, voltage, cooling style, tool holder platform, and controller workflow.

Whether you are upgrading an existing CNC or building a high-performance setup from the start, the PwnCNC ATC System gives you a cleaner and more capable path into automated tool changes.

Built for Serious CNC Workflows

An Automatic Tool Changer is one of the most powerful upgrades you can add to a CNC machine. Instead of manually swapping bits between operations, an ATC allows supported controllers to unload one tool holder and pick up another from a configured tool location.

This helps streamline repeatable projects, production workflows, and jobs that require multiple cutting tools.

Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Options

PwnCNC ATC Systems are available in both air-cooled and water-cooled configurations.

• Water-Cooled ISO20 ATC Motors: Round-body spindles that require a compatible 80mm spindle mount and water-cooling setup.
• Air-Cooled ISO20 ATC Motors: Square-body spindles that may require a machine-specific adapter plate.
• Air-Cooled ISO30 ATC Motors: Larger square-body spindles designed for higher-power ER32 tooling workflows. These require additional machine compatibility planning and are available as Full ATC Systems only.

Please confirm your machine’s mounting requirements before ordering. Some machines require additional brackets, adapter plates, or custom mounting solutions.

Pre-Launch Ordering Notice

Important: Some new air-cooled ATC configurations, including the 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System, are being offered as pre-launch ordering options. These systems are not currently in stock and are not ready-to-ship items.

Orders placed during the pre-launch period help us secure incoming inventory with our vendor and prioritize production as components become available. We will work with our vendor to get these systems moving as quickly as possible, but shipment timing may vary based on vendor availability, incoming freight, configuration requirements, and current order volume.

ISO20 vs. ISO30 Tooling

Most PwnCNC ATC Systems are built around the ISO20 tool holder platform. ISO20 is compact, practical, and well suited for many hobby and small-shop CNC workflows using ER20 collets.

The 4.5kW air-cooled ATC System uses the larger ISO30 tool holder platform. ISO30 tool holders support ER32 collets, giving customers access to larger tooling options and a more powerful spindle platform.

Automatic and Manual Operation

With supported controllers, such as Masso, the ATC System can perform fully automatic tool changes using configured tool positions.

For simpler controllers, manual or push-button assisted tool changes may still be possible depending on the selected configuration. Some controller types require manual operation, additional wiring, or custom setup steps.

Built-to-Order Lead Time

All PwnCNC ATC Systems are built to order. Each system is assembled, wired, configured, tested, and verified in-house before shipment.

Typical lead time is 1–2 weeks before shipment for standard in-stock configurations. Lead time depends primarily on ATC motor availability, current order volume, and the configuration selected at checkout; lead time may extend to 4–6 weeks.

Pre-launch ATC configurations: New air-cooled ATC options, including the 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System, are pre-launch ordering items and are not currently in stock. Orders placed for these configurations will be fulfilled once inventory is secured from our vendor, received, assembled, configured, and tested by PwnCNC.

We will work with our vendor to get pre-launch systems on the way as quickly as possible, but estimated ship dates may change based on vendor availability, freight timing, and production scheduling.

4.5kW ISO30 System Includes ER32 Collet Coverage

The 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System is built around ISO30 tool holders capable of using ER32 collets. Since ER32 tooling is a larger platform than our standard ISO20 ER20 setup, 4.5kW systems include a broad ER32 collet assortment to help customers get started right away.

Pre-launch availability: The Air-Cooled ATC Systems are a pre-launch ordering item. We do not currently have these systems in stock. Your order reserves a place in our production queue while we work with our vendor to secure and receive the required components.

Important: The 4.5kW ISO30 ATC option is available as a full ATC System only. There is no 4.5kW ATC Upgrade package.

Important Bundler Product Note

This is a configurable bundle product. You will answer setup questions during checkout, and the appropriate parts will be added to your cart based on those selections.

Do not manually remove bundle components from your cart. If you remove items from the cart, those items will not ship, even if they were part of your original configuration.

Upgrading from a PwnCNC Spindle System?

Verified PwnCNC Spindle System owners may qualify for our ATC Upgrade Program. The upgrade package includes the ATC-specific components needed to move from a Spindle System to an ATC System, excluding components you may already own, such as the VFD and spindle cable. A VFD upgrade may be required depending on your existing system.

Upgrade availability note: ATC Upgrade packages are intended for supported ISO20 ATC configurations. The 4.5kW ISO30 ATC option is not available as an upgrade package and must be purchased as a complete ATC System.

Compatibility

The PwnCNC ATC System is designed for hobby and small-shop CNC machines when configured correctly. Compatibility depends on your CNC machine, controller, spindle mount, available clearance, pneumatic setup, and selected ATC motor style.

ISO20 systems are generally the most practical ATC path for many smaller CNC platforms. The larger 4.5kW ISO30 system requires additional planning for machine rigidity, mounting, clearance, electrical service, tool storage, and overall machine compatibility.

• Tool change positions must be configured and verified before running automatic tool changes.
• Air-cooled square-body ATC motors may require a machine-specific adapter plate.
• Water-cooled 80mm ATC motors require a compatible 80mm spindle mount.
• New air-cooled ATC configurations, including the 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System, may be pre-launch ordering items and may not be in stock at the time of purchase.
• The 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System is larger and more powerful than the ISO20 options and may not be compatible with every CNC machine.
• The 4.5kW ISO30 ATC System is only available as a complete ATC System, not as an ATC Upgrade package.
• Shielded cables must be grounded properly for best EMI performance.
• Support for non-PwnCNC controllers or third-party CNC machines may be limited by the controller or machine manufacturer’s documentation.
• Because ATC Systems are custom-built, cancellations after procurement of major components may be subject to a restocking fee.
