Dust Boot V9 (3 weeks) Review

I’m please with PwnCNC’s Dust Boot V9 so far.

I have the 4-inch unit with the magnetic hose collar. PwnCNC uses the magnets very well, makes it a snap (pun intended). As long as I don’t do anything foolish, it should last a good long time.

I’m impressed with the snug fit with the brushes and the good vacuum seal it makes. My first run was to test it by engraving/cutting a large MDF piece. Only thing I could say is “Sweeeeeet…..”. Almost no (very minor) follow-up vacuuming needed, what a great time-saver.

Do it, you will be glad.

Very Nice Dust Boot

I wanted a Z-independent rear-dust collection boot and this fits the bill. I like the easy tool change features as well.

It sucks!!!!

This dust boot works extremely well! It was easy to put together. The only issue I had was if my dust collector is off and I move the router up the Y axis, the end which has the hose connected to it, drags on the spoilboard. I think I’ll try adding a section of 4” straight pipe between the boot and the ultimate hose clamp to keep the dust boot level when the dust collector is off. Currently I just have the 4” dust hose attached to the boot and clipped into the ultimate hose clamp and on to the main line of the dust collector. When I turn on the dust collector the hose retracts and the dust boot sits level. So I figure if I change the section between the boot and the clamp it will hold the boot level even if the dust collector is off. Other than that, the V9 Dust boot is perfect.

best dust boot I've used so far

We cut a lot of XLPE for and the stuff loves to stick to rails and ball screws and clog them up. After an 70 minutes long cut the not a bit of foam stuck to any of the troublesome components of the cnc.

excellent overall

excellent overall but in first homing left arm got hooked on tramming bolt and cracked it, however I was able to repair it and after replacing tram bolts with grub screws it is good to go, so check your clearances before first use. One suggestion I have is that there would be option for brush length since it comes with 1" brush witch doesn't leave much clearance for clamps especially on thin material. I will order 2" brush when it comes available.
