Your package should include the following items:
I'll demonstrate how to install my bracketing system onto the Shapeoko 3 with a Z-Plus carriage.
Another Installation Video
In this video, I'm installing Z-Plus bracketing onto my own Shapeoko 3 Std.
And Another Installation Video
Watch as Daniel installs the PwnCNC Brackets onto the Shapeoko 3's Z-Plus Carriage.
Notice: The X-Proximity switch bracket was added to the bracketing system after this video was recorded.
This animation shows how the bracketing system for the Z-Plus goes together.
Note: Your brackets may not have all of these pieces as upgrades are regularly being made.
If you own the BitSetter from Carbide3D, you may need to adjust its' X location. PwnCNC Bracketing expands the width of your carriage slightly and your BitSetter will likely need to be moved.
It has come to my attention that the steel nut-plates may not fit into one or both of your track brackets. The tracks were CNC cut while the nut-plates were hand made. In my next order of this part, I will ensure they are made with tighter tolerances. Until then, to fix the issue, please use a metal file on the steel nut-plates until they slide smoothly within your track brackets.
Did your kit come with the Universal Support Arms that require assembly? Checkout this video on doing that before proceeding.
Pay particular attention to how these brackets attach to your CNC and how they will change your machines dimensions, configuration, and your personal workflows.
Low-Profile clamps are highly recommended with any z-independent boot and we have a variety of options available.
Limit switches may be relocated during installation and this will may affect your CNC's bed size... so take that into account as you operate your machine.
Our v2 and v3 under-the-gantry rear mounted dust boots require some of your available Z clearance. If this is unacceptable and you still want one of our z-independent boots, consider v4.
Always have an emergency plan if your machine does not do what you expect. Often times this is an emergency button but could be as simple as killing the power.
CNC's are tools, so treat them with respect and understand changes you are making by adding after market accessories like those available from PwnCNC.
